Netgalley is open on this self-help Christian segment of the Bible. Though the Psalms were written for singing, are they relevant to real life and modern faith? Take the challenge, and download a copy so that you can sing your next Bible study. Moms! Buy this book pre-season or for a Christmas stocking stuffer. It deals with early childhood bullying, disappointment, and sweet bedtime miracles. Unlike Berenstain Bear books, the parents are helpful and loving. The story reinforces good choices in difficult times. - Barking Lark

Where does your creativity come from? Whether it's dynamic or passive, the Creator's ingenuity is expressed in the ongoing logos, thriving in speech, radiant in nature, just and merciful in His law. The logos is also expounded in human gifts, offices, and fruits of the Spirit. Can you swing on these coat-tails?

Before Long: Let's Move! | Auralee Arkinsly
post image

Wow! Before Long will resonate with anyone who‘s had an “Oh my God, what did we do?” moment after moving into that seemingly perfect situation. I was particularly moved by this book as I‘m currently considering my options and found Ernst and Esme‘s adventures to be very illuminating. This thoughtful, well-presented and light-hearted book is actually a font of wisdom. - Five Star Review, Jack Magnus, most highly recommended.

The Melody of the Mulberries | Tonya Jewel Blessing

This Appalachian Ashby sequel is set in West Virginia, during the 1920s, where granny witches and spiritualism often show the path for wanderers to take, especially in matters of the heart.

I just read the edited A.R.C., for this pre-release edition on Kindle. The story is so tightly wound and yet the characters are intent and sweetly spoken in that southern way, even when they don't intend to be sweet in any sort of delivery. It is simply delicious. A clean romance doesn't mean it doesn't astound and freak you out at times.

Indebted | Charmayne Hafen

Pre-teen action-adventure novel by Charmayne Hafen shook me to the bones. I think it could go a little older, especially if a kid feels abandoned or the need to run to an alternative destiny. Of course, I love sword slinging princess types.

“Give it over.” My husband says calmly. “I‘m gonna burn it.”
I stand in the grass. “Really?”
“Really. We are done. Let the chips fall where they may. I‘m not going to lose my wife over it. You are done, Honey.”
He leaves the stick in the firepit and comes to me. He puts his arms around me. He kisses me. He slides the court transcript binder out of my hands. He throws the papers, inch by inch, into the flames.
I want to throw up.

The Whispering of the Willows | Tonya Jewel Blessing

I'm so glad that Tonya Jewel Blessing's Big Creek sequel is coming! The Melody of the Mulberries features the younger Ashby sister, Coral, whose head is set on visiting the family nemesis in prison. It also features her older brother, Ernest's dilemma between his two love interests- Mercy and Lottie. In true Appalachian fashion, a complex culture and its early teachers come bursting forward to lead readers through the woods of friends and foes.
